Life Discovery Workbook is a personal journaling application developed and maintained by Nitin D Deshmukh.
This Privacy Policy applies to the Life Discovery Question Workbook application available on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and as a Progressive Web App (PWA).

2 What This App Does
The Life Discovery Question Workbook is a personal journaling and self-reflection application. It contains 337 questions across 24 chapters designed to help users understand themselves better, plan their lives, and preserve their personal story.
Users type answers directly into the app. These answers are stored locally on the user's device only.
📍 Core principle: This app is designed to be private by default. Your journal answers are your personal data and they never leave your device.
3 Data We Do NOT Collect

4 Data Stored on Your Device
All app data is stored exclusively in your device's local storage (browser localStorage for the PWA, or equivalent device storage for the native app wrapper). This includes:
- Your journal answers (all 337 questions)
- Your display name (if entered)
- App settings and preferences (theme, auto-save, etc.)
- Your journal start date
- Theme selection
⚠️ Important: Clearing your browser/app cache, uninstalling the app, or using Incognito/Private mode will permanently erase your locally stored data. We strongly recommend downloading a PDF or backup file regularly.
This data is never transmitted to any external server, cloud service, or third party under any circumstances.
5 Contact Form & Support
The app includes an optional contact support form. If you choose to use it:
- You provide your name, email address, and message voluntarily
- This information is sent via EmailJS (a third-party email delivery service) to our support email
- We use this information solely to respond to your support request
- We do not add you to any mailing list or marketing database
- We do not share your contact information with any third parties

Contact form use is entirely optional. The app functions fully without ever using the contact form.
6 Third-Party Services
The app uses the following third-party services in a limited capacity:

We do not use any advertising networks, tracking pixels, social media SDKs, or analytics services.
7 Subscription & Payments
The Life Discovery Question Workbook requires an active subscription to access.
- All subscription purchases and billing are processed exclusively by Apple App Store or Google Play Store
- We do not receive, store, or process any payment card information
- We do not have access to your Apple ID, Google account, or payment details
- Subscription management (cancellation, renewal) is handled through your device's app store settings

8 Children's Privacy
The Life Discovery Question Workbook is not directed at children under the age of 13 years.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app contains introspective questions about life experiences that are appropriate for users aged 13 and above.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through our contact form, please contact us at iamnitindeshmukh@gmail.com and we will delete such information promptly.
9 Data Retention & Deletion
Your journal data (stored on device)
Your journal answers are stored indefinitely on your device until you:
- Manually delete data via Settings → Data → Clear All Data
- Uninstall the app
- Clear browser/app cache
We have no ability to access or delete your locally stored journal data as it never reaches our servers.
Contact form data
If you contact our support team, we retain your email communication for up to 12 months for support purposes, after which it is deleted.
Deleting your data
To delete all your journal data: open the app → Settings → Data → Clear All Data. This permanently removes all answers and settings from your device. To request deletion of any support correspondence, email iamnitindeshmukh@gmail.com.
10 Security
Since all journal data is stored locally on your device, the security of your data depends on your device's security settings (screen lock, device encryption, etc.).
All network communications (loading the app, Google Fonts, EmailJS) use HTTPS/TLS encryption. We do not implement any proprietary or non-standard encryption algorithms.
The app does not transmit personal data over any network, minimising security risks associated with data in transit.
11 Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right to Access — Request a copy of personal data we hold about you
- Right to Rectification — Request correction of inaccurate personal data
- Right to Erasure — Request deletion of your personal data
- Right to Object — Object to processing of your personal data
- Right to Data Portability — Request transfer of your data

🌍 GDPR & CCPA: Users in the European Union and California, USA have additional privacy rights. We honour all requests under GDPR and CCPA. We do not sell personal data.
12 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
